Non-Safety-Related H1N1 Vaccine Recall

Sanofi Pasteur has recalled some H1N1 vaccine that "had potency below pre-specified limits."  The CDC and the FDA feel that the small decrease in potency is unlikely to significantly decrease the immune response in people who received this particular lot of vaccine.  Therefore, children who were given the affected vaccine do NOT need to be revaccinated.

Lot UTO23AA was given out by our office. 

We still recommend that all children under age 10 get a second H1N1 vaccine at least one month after the first is administered.
